fear was root cause of my illness

I came (to Tao Holistic Healing Program) with a lot of physical problems asthma allergies, irritable bowel syndrome, acid reflux disease, acne, and migraine headaches. I was taking medication for all these conditions.

My goal was to relieve my asthma symptoms since that was the most serious condition and to possibly reduce some of the medication I have been taking.

The Tao Holistic Healing Program was a life changing experience for me. I came here primarily to relieve my asthma symptoms but the program did so much more for me than that. I learned that my real issue is my intestines and not my lungs and that both fear and resistance have influenced my body condition. I am determined now more than ever to continue using the skills I have learned to heal my body. I am so grateful to the staff for pushing me past my limits both physically and mentally. They have all given me such hope for my future. Thanks to everyone.

Dahn Yoga Brings Me Happiness

My addiction to Dahn Yoga began with curiosity; “What is that? Yoga? Riight foot behind left ear? let’s see…”  After 45 minutes of private session I realized that I did not hear that wonderful creaking sound in my neck that I was so used to…

I decided to try this yoga — why not? — and became addicted to it.

Being able to stretch more, feeling my body differently, losing some weight (just a pound or two!)… it felt soooo good!  After a few months (eight!) I was ready for a new adventure; ShimSung. That has changed my life!!!

I think that ShimSung was one of the best things I did for myself. Taking care of million things and hundreds of people, being always busy, tired, nervous, forgetting about myself; that was old me. Love, respect, understanding, power, confidence, peace — that is my new, TRUE self.

I enjoy my life  now, every moment of it. I think I know now what does it mean to be happy!!! Do you?

Dahn Yoga changed my life

When I first came to the Dahn Center I was very stressed and my body was weak. And I was very confused about my life, I didn’t know what was next. I had lots of questions in my head which I didn’t know how to put together. The reason Dahn Yoga changed my life, and this is really true, is after my practicing regular classes and taking additional workshops I became a different person. I am physically stronger and more clear in my head and I am more focused on what I’m doing. I enjoy my life much deeper. I have much more gratitude for my being. I can set my visions more confidently and I am greatful I have Dahn Yoga in my life.

Dahn yoga & Diabetes

I came to Dahn Yoga here with diabetes, fears and doubts and not connecting with my true self.

My goal was to improve my diabetes and connect with my true self. Even though I am on blood sugar medication my readings were still very high.

After this week my readings went to 103-108. I know that with continued focus, on the process I learned and experienced I will get that number down lower and will be able to get off the medication.
I can not wait to accomplish this and suprise my doctor. I am connecting at a deeper level with my true self. I see what has created the separation and how to reconnect with who I really am.

Dahn Yoga in College

Tangible Results.  I pray for this from time to time, not for the recognition through having something to show, but rather for the Affirmation that what we do as Dahn Healers has an impact on positively impacting the lives of others.  Seeing tangible results from our efforts creates more of the same pure energy. (Like really delicious ice cream, a little can go a long way…oops…Mind to Stomach..it’s my lunch break.)

I’m sending the sharing below with permission from the writer.  She was a student last summer in the Dahn Yoga (BEST Level 1) class I teach at College of San Mateo. It is significant to note that she is also the Dean of Counseling, Advising, and Matriculation on the campus.  Perhaps the energy is changing in a fresh, big way…

I hope this sharing inspires others too.

Warm regards,  Lisa – San Mateo Dahn Yoga Center

Dahn Yoga and my passion

My training began in the last semester in college. In short, I felt right away an increased ability to stay relaxed even under pressure. Each class I would look forward to the end result where my thoughts and worries would disappear.

I soon began to realize that it was much more that. I was opening my mind to new things, to new ideas and perhaps most importantly, new people. Again this was much more than self confidence or even stress management, but instead a positive change in mind and body that would open up a great number of possibilities for me, including my passion: community.

I discovered my passion during the Phoenix Project, an intensive training of awakening and action exercises that really helped me focus on what I wanted to do and gave me tools to stay centered in my vision. The Phoenix Project was also a great way to find young members that were experiencing the same challenges and wanted to get clear answers in their lives. Thank you Dahn Yoga, my family and all the Phoenixi!

I got more than what I looking for.

I have been participating with Dahn Yoga since it opened in Moraga this January 2007.
I was looking for something that would contribute to my overall health and well being; I have found this approach very effective.  I am in my 60′s and run a financial planning firm in Walnut Creek. After work I need a place to unwind and I find the workouts challenging as well as invigorating. I have attained body strength and stamina allowing me to enjoy life fully along with a more positive and relaxed confidence in myself. Moraga’s Dahn Yoga Center offers our community a place to mend stress, share our results and recover our sense of priorities.

illness & mind/body connection

All attitudes, thoughts, and beliefts are connected with various pathways, called meridians of energy, to all of the body’s organs. These specific meridians have traditionally been named according to the organs they energize, for instance, the heart meridian, gallbladder meridian, etc. These connections can be demonstrated in seconds. If one holds a particular negative thought in mind, a very specific muscle will go weak; if one replaces the thought with a positive idea, the same muscle will instantly go strong.

When the mind is dominated by a negative worldview, the direct result is a repetition of minute changes in energy flow to the various body organs. The function of all human physiology is affected through electron transfer, neural hormonal balance, nutritional status, etc. By the time these accumulated changes are detected through modern measurement techniques, the disease process is already quite advanced.

The invisible universe of thought and attitude becomes visible as a consequence of the body’s habitual response. Thus, all illness should be reversible by changing thought patterns and habitual responses. (Wellness and the Disease Process, Power vs. Force, David Hawkins)

Through regular Dahn Yoga training, we can learn to master and use our energy to experience natural healing in our bodies while gaining control of our emotions and habits.

Dahn Yoga Helps My Life

I would like to share my experience with Dahn Yoga.  As a new member I felt very welcomed and at ease from the first session.  The instructors are warm and friendly.  Some of the poses are challenging but the instructors guide you through them.  I felt stronger physically and spiritually from the first session.  The meditation and breathing has helped me mentally and I feel a sense of balance within.  I feel totally relaxed and in harmony with people around me after every session.

I recently began running to lose weight and the yoga has helped me with that as well.  There were, for example, days when I would wake up very stiff and in a lot of pain from the run I had done the day before but after my yoga session the stiffness and the pain would be gone!  I remember the day I ran 12 miles was very painful.  I was sore all over, not just my legs hurt.  The next day, I couldn’t even walk straight.  But, after doing the yoga poses, I felt great and ready for the next running session.

I am very happy with the results!

Feeling the Energy

Energy is not something you learn, it is something you feel. Do not try to analyze it. Instead, open your heart and accept the energy. There is no right or wrong way to feel it. Energy is a little like water. You cannot see or touch the buoyancy of water just by looking at a pool of water, yet you can see that fish swim and boats float. Only when you actually jump into the water can you really feel the existence of buoyancy. Energy is similar in that you cannot fully understand it with your eyes, rather it is something you must experience and feel throughout your body.

Begin your energy training with Jigam meditation in your regular Dahn Yoga class where you can try feeling the energy with your hands.
