The Dahn Center Is My Life Clinic

About two years ago, I was diagnosed with Mixed Connective Tissue Disorder, borderline Lupus. And because of this disease I suffer from Pericarditis, anemia, chronic pain in the neck and shoulders, weight loss, hair loss, hives, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Reynaud’s disease, Chronic Bronchitis, a slow moving digestive system, and memory loss.. After my diagnosis I was put on a number of medications, some that were there just to counter-act the side effects of others. I was very weak and limited to excessive physical activity, exposure to sunlight, and with a suppressed immune system, I could not be around anyone who was sick. I was napping about three times a day and could barely function enough to take care of my children. I tried physical therapy, chiropractic care, and regular massage therapy to try to help with the chronic pain. All helped to ease the pain, but never helped it enough to stop reoccurring. When time and money permitted, I, along with my doctor’s permission decided to do weight training. Although, this was supposed to be something that gave me more energy, I was so fatigued after, that I was being unproductive throughout the day. I found myself feeling unsuccessful because as the weight got heavier, arthritis in the arms and knees would kick in and I would say, “I can’t,” even without trying.

It was at this point I knew I needed something to change my state of mind. I was on an exercise program but still did not feel good mentally. I joined Dahn Yoga and found that I was able to be more focused in everything that I do. I was more successful in weight training and was able to gain more strength than I ever thought possible. My energy levels are up and I can go through most days without having to take a nap. I have more patience with my children and feel more at peace with myself and most importantly of all I stopped saying, “I can’t”. Now I am taking Dahn Healer school to heal my self and family as well as to grow my soul. Thank you for changing my life to the light.
