My Dahn Yoga experence

Today’s class was very revealing. My upper body, especially my shoulders, was very tight. During breathing posture #5 a wooden pillow was place between my shoulder blades for a few minutes to help open my chest. When the wooden pillow was removed everything felt as though it had melted into the floor. Every muscle was soft and I could fill my lungs easily. Then I was truly able to relax into the posture.

Another happening which I am so grateful for (and so are my kids – I’m less crabby)…by the second week of coming to class, I am sleeping soundly. I sleep through the night, a deep, restful, restoring sleep…a time that I am sure my body/mind have been craving for a very long time but didn’t realize. Now that I am more mindful, many things are changing and changing for the better. Thank you!

  1. I find sleeping better is a huge and very common benefit of Dahn Yoga. Myself included :)
