A Nice 4-hour DahnMuDo Reinforcement Class

This past weekend (9/23) we had a very nice regional DahnMuDo reinforcement class.  It was very nice because we spent the whole time outdoors at Rancho San Antonio Park.  The majority of the time was spent doing Jang-saeng walking.  Personally, I found it a bit difficult to maintain all of the Jang-saeng walking guidelines while going downhill.  That aside, we did get to see some wildlife on our hike.  This wildlife included a couple deer, a bobcat (we actually saw more deer keeping an eye on the bobcat from a safe distance), and some wild turkeys.  Of course we also got to see the livestock at the Deer Farm as well.

We stopped for a picnic lunch under some oak trees.  Then we did the Vortex sword form as a group a couple times in a meadow.  All-in-all, not a whole lot of DahnMuDo reinforcement, but Master Kim did share with us hours of related philosophy.  Since exercise alone isn’t the whole picture, this was quite valuable and welcome.  I guess I should restate myself, there was plenty of DahnMuDo reinforcement, but not a whole lot of strenuous exercicse.  I’m glad I went.

  1. It sounds like you had wonderful training! Sometimes it definitely takes some reflection time to see the bigger picture… :)
