I know there are various forms of meditation, but I wanted to share the energy meditation method used in every Dahn Yoga class.
In the Dahn Yoga energy meditation, you bring your hands close together, palms facing each other, and focus on the energy between your palms. Then you move your hands apart as you breathe in, making the energy ball bigger, and then you bring your hands back closer together as you breathe out, making the energy ball small once again. I particularly find this method effective in clearing the mind to bring inner peace because it gives you something to focus on with your body, not with your mind, to cut all the thinking. Also, if you’re having a hard time cutting all the chaotic thinking from your brain, the energy won’t gather in your hands, leaving you to feel nothing. So there’s a built-in self-checking system to really see how well you’re focusing and meditating deeply. ![]()
