
Gwyneth Paltrow, who once said that she regularly woke up before 5:00 AM to do yoga, was honored to be regarded so highly in the yoga world.
Though she is an Oscar- and Golden Globe-winning actress, represents Estee Lauder and has two children with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, Gwyneth Paltrow does not seem to be content to rest on her laurels. Instead, she has rested on yoga mats, undertaking years of advocacy for the regimen.
Now, since she had given so much to yoga, yoga decided to give back to her. Bent on Fitness, a non-profit charity that brings the deep breathing, meditation and stretching of yoga into inner city public schools, honored Paltrow for her "immense contributions to the yoga community," according to the UK Daily News.
The 38-year-old, who once said that she regularly woke up before 5:00 AM to do yoga, was honored to be regarded so highly in the yoga world, the news source stated.
Paltrow has hosted a number of experts on her personal website, GOOP, many of whom have touted the benefits of yoga.
"Restorative yoga is the perfect solution to the over-stressed state we all are in. As you are supported in the poses, one gets the profound effects of yoga without having to exert any energy," said Dr. Frank Lipman in that forum.
