Dahn Yoga Community in California Gives Free Earth Hugs

dahn yoga californiaDo you care about the Earth, which unconditionally loves and supports you?  The Dahn Yoga conscience of love and respect for the Earth and its citizens gives us a chance to return some of that love!

San Francisco Region’s Fremont Dahn Yoga Center held an Earth Day event on Sunday April 22nd at the Petit Cafe in Fremont, California. Dahn Masters reached out to the public to promote their Meditate and Make a Difference! Earth Awareness Campaign, sponsored by Dahn Yoga andLifeParticleTV.com.  This campaign teaches that when we meditate, we are peaceful and take peaceful actions, toward the earth and each other.

Colorful campaign posters invited attendees to get a “Free Earth Hug.” Dahn Yoga members, wearing a Free Earth Hug poster board, handed a ball representing the beautiful blue earth for visitors to hug.  In Ilchi Lee’s book “Earth Citizen:  Recovering our Humanity,” Lee points out that “…we are all united by our dependence on a single planet-the Earth.”  Therefore, we must all find a way to place the Earth at the center of our personal value system; to own the title ‘earth citizen.’

One quiet gentleman redeeming his Free Hug envisioned embracing the Earth with his beautiful heart and saiddahn yoga fremont he felt as though he were cleansing our ocean waters. He was so deeply moved by the earth energies he felt, he quickly signed up for a subscription to LifeParticleTV.com for him and his wife.

Maile Sanchez of the Fremont Dahn Yoga center is a soap maker. She provided natural handmade soaps and LITO kits to give away and to encourage all to do their part to clean up Mother Earth. LITO stands for “Love in. Trash out.”  These kits contain a garbage bag and a pair of disposable gloves to pick up trash at any local park, school, lake or just about anywhere.

“Everyone participated with a joyful heart and passion,” shared Maile.  “I feel that we need more of this kind of activity to check our growth and overcome our limitations.”

Some members gave copies of The Call of Sedona by Ilchi Lee away as free gifts, and aura readings were offered at the Dahn Yoga booth.  Earth awareness does not stop after Earth Day; it will be an on-going promotion with the Dahn Masters of San Francisco Region’s Fremont Dahn Yoga Center.

Dahn Yoga instructor honored for providing free classes in a California park

Dahn Yoga and Health Centers recently commended Richard Cowles, an instructor based in Southern California, for his commitment and dedication to the meditative Korean regimen. Cowles offered Dahn Yoga classes free of charge in a local park, which is reminiscent of the way the art form began in Korea, since it was first performed in a similar setting.

After practicing the deep breathing exercises and gentle postures of Dahn Yoga for many years, Cowles eventually found the confidence to become an instructor himself. He took a course last year and began teaching an outreach course in Euclid Park. Through sharing the tranquil, relaxing regimen with others, he said that he has enjoyed the art even more.

"Dahn Yoga will allow you to find who you really are and that you can really make a positive difference in the world," he said.

Many of the students in his classes are Korean women who speak little English, but despite the language barrier, Dahn Yoga has united them as a group of peace-loving individuals who gather in the park to perform the exercises.

One woman said that Cowles' classes are the best way to start her day, as they leave her feeling energized and joyful.

Dahn Yoga Benefits California Community with Yoga and Jazz Event for Spring

Dahn Yoga exercises can be a great way to enjoy Spring. This weekend Dahn Yoga in Pasadena is hosting a healthy and fun event for the whole family featuring Dahn Yoga exercises and live Jazz performed by the Jacques Lesure Trio.

Yoga and Jazz are very compatible. Both can be dynamic, improvisational and relaxing. One more thing they have in common is that they are both more enjoyable with the people you love. In fact, studies have shown that people can influence each other’s health and lifestyle choices. Dahn Yoga hopes this event will create an opportunity for family and friends to help each other make healthy choices.

For fourteen years Dahn Yoga has been a California choice for health and wellness. Dahn Yoga’s Pasadena center wants to let the local community know what it has to offer, but also wants to let the community know it cares. Manager, Su Kyung Park, has been teaching Dahn Yoga for six years. She relishes this opportunity to reach out to her neighbors and celebrate her love of music. She hopes that others will learn about Jazz and this unique style of yoga.

Dahn Yoga classes feature Korean style stretching, flowing movement, deep breathing exercises and meditation in a simple and easy to learn format. Dahn Yoga recognizes the healing power of music; how it helps people concentrate and relax. Since every aspect of Dahn Yoga classes includes music, live jazz is a perfect fit.

The principal musician for the special event will be Jacques Lesure, a Jazz guitarist who has played with many of Jazz’s greatest artists. A Los Angeles resident, Mr. Lesure has contributed to theatrical productions, film scores and television projects. He is eager to give back to the community and expose youth and adults alike to the rich history of Jazz.

The special Yoga and Jazz event will take place Sunday, March 26 at 2PM at the Paseo Colorado, 280 East Colorado Boulevard, Pasadena, CA 91101. The event is free and open to the public. Dahn Yoga will accept donations to be directed toward the Red Cross Japan Relief Fund. For more information, please call Dahn Yoga Pasadena at 626-844-0433.

Dressing for success in the office can convey personal growth

There are many ways to convey one's personal growth while in the office, and one of the most prominent may be dressing appropriately.

While it may be comfortable to wear cargo pants or un-tuck one's shirt, such things may lead to supervisors and colleagues questioning one's professionalism. One can avoid such problems by making sure that they are wearing recently washed articles of clothing that are appropriate for an office environment.

The importance of dressing appropriately for work can be even more prominent when one frequently interacts with clients or customers. While they may be loathe to admit it, many people's first impressions of someone is typically based on his or her appearance, meaning that one should always be sure that they are impeccably dressed when entering an office or client meeting.

Another benefit of dressing to impress at work may be that one's peers will take what they have to say more seriously than if they were wearing ratty clothes.

While dressing appropriately will outwardly convey one's personal growth and development, Dahn Yoga meditation may help individuals achieve this inwardly.

Dahn Yoga reviews say proper attire is essential

To effectively use the force flowing within your body during meditation, it takes a calm space, a good room temperature and comfortable clothing. Many Dahn Yoga reviews point out that even with the increasing popularity of tight, revealing yoga attire, the most comfortable way to practice yoga and meditation is while wearing loose clothes.

While there is no strict dress code for practicing Dahn Yoga – which, after all, may be performed nearly anywhere at any time – experts recommend that practitioners look for a light, long-sleeved outfit made of natural fibers.

A comfortable, loose-knit top and bottom helps keep the body from overheating, which is both deleterious to a meditation session and generally uncomfortable.

Live Trading News reports that certain yoga wear companies have recently been profiting from selling restrictive clothing. These clothes may encourage yoga members to sweat up a storm, troops of whom have written Dahn Yoga reviews to report favoring the natural attire of Dahn Yoga.

Yoga, meditation and tai chi make it easier to search your feelings and calm your body, and proper dress may help. By wearing a comfortable pair of light pants topped by a loose shirt or even short robe, yoga members can be one with the world around them.

Meditation focuses on centering self, healing mind-body connection

In hundreds of nationwide centers that host Dahn Yoga, meditation, breathing and yoga postures speed the process of self healing. Some individuals may wonder about the intersection between yoga and spirituality. Centering and healing oneself through yoga is primarily a mental and physical pursuit, though it has a spiritual component.

Yoga has been in existence for thousands of years, during which time it has been adapted to the inner and outer movements of the the human body. In its most basic forms, yoga begins by addressing the body's natural flow of energy, called Ki. Many basic Dahn Yoga exercises act to unblock or facilitate the flow of Ki throughout the body, which restores physical strength and well-being.

These physical pursuits also have repercussions in the mind and the spirit. Practices in Dahn Yoga, like meditation, tai chi and deep breathing, loosen the restrictions placed on the mind and soul by everyday pressures and responsibilities.

Practicing yoga ultimately means reincorporating the tending of one's spiritual and mental contentment into the daily routine of living. By engaging in an occasional yoga session, a Dahn Yoga practitioner may begin to feel a healing process begin within the self.

Yoga Poses Put Mind, Body At Ease

The time-honored tradition of yoga is less about running the body ragged than about giving it relaxed latitude to realign itself with the mind. In Dahn Yoga books, these poses come to life easy-to-understand photo series and written descriptions.

Of course, not all yoga positions are easy to perform. The Providence Journal recently profiled a pose called the Scorpion from a different yogic practice. The posture involves lying on the stomach, lifting one’s upper body with the arms and then raising the feet up from behind to touch the head.

The pose appears to be relatively advanced, given that it takes a bit of flexibility and core strength to be able to attain and hold it.

The positions laid out in Dahn Yoga books range from the advanced to the most elementary. In the text Dahn Yoga Basics, practitioners are encouraged to begin with the aptly named “basic posture,” which is a simple upright stance that allows the body to be slowly manipulated and relaxed.

Dahn Yoga positions rarely become arduous or demanding. Rather, they pursue what yoga has aimed for for thousands of years—inner flight.

California yoga studio guides members through back exercises

Take a few seconds to shrug your shoulders up and down, then pull them back and down, extending your chest out. After that, if you feel like you've been tensing your shoulders up toward your neck all day, you may be in need of a little effective stress management. A number of yoga studios, not to mention Dahn Yoga books, offer these in spades.

At least one yoga center in southern California is offering classes designed specifically to address backaches and dorsal pain. This class, which meets on Tuesdays and is led by instructor Debbie Berardi, allows people to perform postures while lying supine, according to Patch San Juan Capistrano.

Many such exercises are available in Dahn Yoga books, such as Dahn Yoga Basics, a text that runs through the most essential techniques for stretching, relaxation and stress management.

Many of these positions straighten the spine, limber up sore or tight muscles, get the blood flowing in knotty tissues, increase the energy being sent through the torso and open up blocked channels of Ki, the body's life-force.

Simply taking a few moments to stretch your core muscles and relax your mind can help lower your tensed shoulders and get backaches under control.

Yoga program announces Meridian of the Month

Practicing yoga can be a delightful way to maintain good health, and this month in Dahn Yoga classes, instructors are emphasizing the restoration of a particular energy channel in order to improve overall wellness and to repair one's sense of delight.

Dahn Yoga and Health Centers has announced that March's Meridian of the Month is the large intestinal channel, Benzinga reports. The program's energy channeling and self healing practices focus on 12 meridians within the body. Each channel is connected to a particular organ, and each has its inverse – a yang for its yin.

The large intestine's inverse is the pulmonary system, or the lungs. The good health of one organ is energetically tied to that of the other, through Ki, the natural force that pervades the body. By practicing deep breathing, one can improve the functioning of the large intestine.

The news source said that the reverse is similarly beneficial. By massaging the intestinal area for 15 minutes, one can open up the energy channels that run symmetrically up and down through the bodily systems, encouraging the recovery of a feeling of warmth and satisfaction.

Enrollment in Dahn Yoga classes can teach members of any age to keep their energy meridians in working order, through which they can experience the quiet pleasures of meditation.
