No more Diabetes

We have a member who came to take the THHP a year ago in November. She had a stroke which left her body numb on the left side. She had high blood pressure, high cholestoral, fibromyalgia, arthritus and diabetis.
when she left in November she no longer had fibromyalgia and the medications she was taking were cut in half. Well in May she came again and last week went to the doctors, she no longer has diabetes!

Dahn yoga cures Diabetes

I came to Dahn Yoga here with diabetes, fears and doubts and not connecting with my true self.

My goal was to improve my diabetes and connect with my true self. Even though I am on blood sugar medication my readings were still very high.

After this week my readings went to 103-108. I know that with continued focus, on the process I learned and experienced I will get that number down lower and will be able to get off the medication.
I can not wait to accomplish this and suprise my doctor. I am connecting at a deeper level with my true self. I see what has created the separation and how to reconnect with who I really am.

I got more than what I looking for.

I have been participating with Dahn Yoga since it opened in Moraga this January 2007.
I was looking for something that would contribute to my overall health and well being; I have found this approach very effective.  I am in my 60’s and run a financial planning firm in Walnut Creek. After work I need a place to unwind and I find the workouts challenging as well as invigorating. I have attained body strength and stamina allowing me to enjoy life fully along with a more positive and relaxed confidence in myself. Moraga’s Dahn Yoga Center offers our community a place to mend stress, share our results and recover our sense of priorities.

illness & mind/body connection

All attitudes, thoughts, and beliefts are connected with various pathways, called meridians of energy, to all of the body’s organs. These specific meridians have traditionally been named according to the organs they energize, for instance, the heart meridian, gallbladder meridian, etc. These connections can be demonstrated in seconds. If one holds a particular negative thought in mind, a very specific muscle will go weak; if one replaces the thought with a positive idea, the same muscle will instantly go strong.

When the mind is dominated by a negative worldview, the direct result is a repetition of minute changes in energy flow to the various body organs. The function of all human physiology is affected through electron transfer, neural hormonal balance, nutritional status, etc. By the time these accumulated changes are detected through modern measurement techniques, the disease process is already quite advanced.

The invisible universe of thought and attitude becomes visible as a consequence of the body’s habitual response. Thus, all illness should be reversible by changing thought patterns and habitual responses. (Wellness and the Disease Process, Power vs. Force, David Hawkins)

Through regular Dahn Yoga training, we can learn to master and use our energy to experience natural healing in our bodies while gaining control of our emotions and habits.

Feeling the Energy

Energy is not something you learn, it is something you feel. Do not try to analyze it. Instead, open your heart and accept the energy. There is no right or wrong way to feel it. Energy is a little like water. You cannot see or touch the buoyancy of water just by looking at a pool of water, yet you can see that fish swim and boats float. Only when you actually jump into the water can you really feel the existence of buoyancy. Energy is similar in that you cannot fully understand it with your eyes, rather it is something you must experience and feel throughout your body.

Begin your energy training with Jigam meditation in your regular Dahn Yoga class where you can try feeling the energy with your hands.

Your body is a single system

One of the main benefits of Dahn Yoga is that it helps to stimulate, activate and make healthier all your internal organs. What’s interesting is that healthier organs actually relieve pain from unexpected parts of the body and create other interesting positive side effects, including headache and backache relief, better posture, less swelling especially in the face and lower body, and weight loss in certain targeted areas of the body (especially the mid-section oftentimes!).

Dahn Yoga’s energy meditation

I know there are various forms of meditation, but I wanted to share the energy meditation method used in every Dahn Yoga class.

In the Dahn Yoga energy meditation, you bring your hands close together, palms facing each other, and focus on the energy between your palms. Then you move your hands apart as you breathe in, making the energy ball bigger, and then you bring your hands back closer together as you breathe out, making the energy ball small once again. I particularly find this method effective in clearing the mind to bring inner peace because it gives you something to focus on with your body, not with your mind, to cut all the thinking. Also, if you’re having a hard time cutting all the chaotic thinking from your brain, the energy won’t gather in your hands, leaving you to feel nothing. So there’s a built-in self-checking system to really see how well you’re focusing and meditating deeply. :)

Healing my pain in the neck :)

I’ve been really stressed with work and personal life things lately, so I’ve been feeling my body get easily drained and my head constantly heavy. Today was another one of those days.

Even though I took a class at my Dahn Yoga center, my neck still felt incredibly stiff today. I was frustrated because I usually feel so relaxed, calm and happy after every class….so I stayed to whine to the master.

She brought me into the healing room, had me lie down and gave me what felt like at least half an hour of healing massage on my neck and shoulders. I was so grateful that she spent so much time and energy on me, and she smiled down at me and said that it did not last more than 10 minutes. I was BLOWN AWAY!!! I was so much more comfortable and loosened up in just a matter of minutes!

I felt so wonderful and grateful to the master for her powerful yet incredibly warm energy. It’s no wonder I love going to my Dahn center. :D

Dahn Mu Do–the Dahn-Related Martial Art

I attended Dahn Mu Do school a little over a year ago, so I had the opportunity to train and help out when my Dahn Yoga center hosted a special introductory Dahn Mu Do class for the members.

I love Dahn Mu Do because not only did it help me to relax, strengthen and align my body, but it gave me deeper physical strength that ultimately created inner power. Dahn Mu Do was largely what helped me to grow by giving me the foundational strength to face myself and my inner challenges.

Helping out with the class was wonderful. It gave me a chance to reconnect to the training. Seeing the change in other members’ energy just from a short 1.5 hour class gave me so much joy, gratitude and passion.
